Setting aside the traditional artist tools and replacing them with an energized stylus of his own design. the artist directs the application of a high voltage charge to capture the movement of electrical current on wood.
To enhance the captured burns the artist employs several different techniques to introduce color, depth and shading to the works. Gun powders, wood dyes, powdered metals, resins, and encaustic waxes are all utilized to complete the works.

I carve and print dozens of linoblocks on to rice paper and tissue papers. These prints are collaged on to canvas, finished with several layers of acrylic and finally stitched. I use embroidery floss as a final line of color and texture.
Greg Brown
Each painting has a vintage Versace silk tie attached to the front. It's wrapped around and attached with glue after the gallery-wrapped canvas has been painted in corresponding acrylic colors. Gianni Versace was murdered in 1997 and each tie is pre-death which means he had a hand in the design.
Each color has to match and each line and shape from the tie has to line up on the canvas before the tie is glued on. The canvas and tie become one work.
The Versace label is removed from the back of the tie and is attached to the back of the painting for authenticity.

I am a recreator. Each original piece starts with intention that the viewer feels more than sees. Using upcycle reclaimed wood and transforming it into art with layers of acrylic paint I enhance each piece with powerful words, original poetry, subtext, and imagery. Additionally, I create 3-dimensional mosaics cutting different original art pieces, layering them into a new unique piece.

Krisitn Schue is known for her thoughtful incorporation of found ephemera and photographs in her mixed media work which evoke memories and familiar stories. Based in Minneapolis - St. Paul, Kristin has shown her work for two decades, developing several series of works utilizing materials from newspapers, and antique cabinet card photographs to View-Master reels. She finds her muse in anonymous discarded materials waiting to be rediscovered and take on a new life.
My studio looks a bit like a cluttered antique store specializing in papers and photographs. I have always been drawn to these weathered items carrying stories we will never quite know. From these items I glimpse a hidden narrative, which I develop further by adding other materials to contribute to the story. I hope viewers find something strange yet familiar in my work that sparks their own memory, humor or sense of wonder.

I am a developer of my own technique of painting with segmented polymer resins on canvas, wood and slate. Other mixed media is also used. Foils, metal powders, resins, stones and re-claimed wood. I apply materials to canvas in multiple layers, allowing them to dry sequentially, mixing in pigments of choice and other media. My creations have a 3-D feel to them due to raised textures.
I call my technique Liquid Mosaic.

I create my pieces using original photography I’ve taken from my travels across the north woods and American plains, the south, southwest and Latin America. I layer my images digitally and add color, texture, original illustrations and design. I augment some of my works with hand-sprayed stencils using printer ink pigment and a wide nozzle airbrush. On some pieces I pull different elements out of the design and layer these on acrylic panels. The panels stack on spacers and reveal a unique color separation of my artwork.
I apply the final montage onto an archival art board, coat it with gel medium and mount it into a handmade frame. Some pieces I frame simply, others I float off the mat board and I airbrush a textured gradient in the gutter. The result is a vibrant, layered work, soaked in color and graffitied with graphic images of iconic Americana and beyond.

With Black&White Film, I create Gelatin Silver Photographs in a wet darkroom. Each is hand-tinted with translucent oils. Last, they are framed in reworked salvaged materials making a one of a kind piece.

I create pop art using a combination of hand drawn illustrations combined with various design elements (shapes, colors, texture). The goal is to create digital art with a story.
Kayann Ausherman
Through representational abstract, I like to focus on the process of exploration of the world around me while using manmade papers, mediums, and patterns as the interface between the art I make and the world it represents.
I use magazine pages altered with a citrus based organic cleaner which alters the ink. The resulting paper is transformed from its original appearance, and combines well with other papers, paints, and inks. I design and cut my own stencils for use in many of my pieces and love including geometric patterns. I also enjoy 'hiding' elements and words into the layers that make up my artwork, inviting the viewers to take a closer look and rewarding those who do.
While I have had a lifelong love of all things creative, I took up making 2D artwork rather late in life. I am largely self-taught, greatly influenced by a drive to experiment and explore different techniques and mediums. I especially love incorporating the discarded into my artwork.
My artwork is typified by a sense of whimsical fun and layers of paper, paint, and other assorted mediums.
