I create unique one of kind open-spine hand made journals using fine quality beautiful hand made papers & vintage fabrics. I use linen hinge tape inside the spine for added strength, acid free binder's board (cut to size & sanded) for the covers & spine pieces and good quality writing paper for the book block. I hand sew each book with sinew or ribbon. I also incorporate found objects, antique keys, original geometric designs in paper, antique post cards or other objects as a part of the book cover by gluing or sewing them into place. Each hand made book that I construct is a wonderful expression of color, design, paper and reclaimed items that are put together to form a tangible, touchable work of art that can be completed by the writer or artist who chooses the journal for their very own. I never create the same book twice, so they are as unique & individual as their owners.
